A technology company that evolved from science laboratories at the University of Michigan relied on APPLIED ENVIRONMENTAL early on for its environmental compliance needs, including a move into its current location. In 2006, it was purchased by a public company engaged in the production of silicon wafers for the telecommunications industry. The new entity wanted to consolidate some of their operations from California and South Dakota into the Ann Arbor facility. This required air and waste water permitting, and the development of a comprehensive Environmental Management plan. APPLIED ENVIRONMENTAL, with a strategic partner specializing in these fields, assisted the client in starting up a clean room with benches used for acid etching and obtained permits to install for air permitting. APPLIED ENVIRONMENTAL also obtained permits for waste water discharge and created an environmental management plan. The client is comfortable that they are in compliance with regulatory agencies and are confident that they are addressing the safety and education of their employees.
